6 arrests in Darby street brawl; bear spray, hedge trimmer recovered – Delco Times

Six people, adults and juveniles, were arrested after a brawl Tuesday afternoon in Darby.

Darby Police Chief Joseph Gabe Jr. said officers were called about 4:20 p.m. for the reports of a fight in the 1300 Block of Park Lane involving adults, juveniles and possibly weapons.

Upon arrival, officers found an ongoing altercation among several individuals. Witnesses reported seeing pepper spray, hedge trimmers and baseball bats during the fight.

Gabe said officers acted quickly to de-escalate the situation and secure the scene. Bear spray and a set of hedge trimmers were recovered.

A total of six individuals were taken into custody, including both juveniles and adults. EMS was called but Gabe said that, thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.

“We take incidents involving youth violence seriously and are working closely with local agencies and community organizations to address underlying issues and prevent future incidents,” Gabe said.
